O.K. here I have a tutorial for people new to the Poke'mon world. I'm not going to put everything up at once rigth away, little bits each day.

Lets start from the very top.
What are Poke'mon?
Poke'mon are Pocket Monsters that people use in battle and other events. People who use Poke'mon called trainers battle them against each other to see who is the best. Each Poke'mon has something called HP, (health points) and moves that either lower this HP, makes it easier to lower HP, or makes it harder for foes to lower your Poke'mon's HP. Moves run on PP and every time they use a move they loss some of this. If a Poke'mon runs out of PP they can't use that move. If a Poke'mon runs out of HP then the Poke'mon "faints" and can not be used in battle again untill it gets better. A Poke'mon battle ends when one side runs out of Poke'mon that can fight.

Types of Battles:
Battles can be divided into 2 (2 1/2?) catorgies. More on the half thing in a bit.
The simplest kind of battle is against a wild Poke'mon.
When you walk through grass, caves, on water, etc. there is a chance that you will encounter a wild Poke'mon when you see a wild Poke'mon you can either fight it, cacth it, or try to run away. If you want to fight a wild Poke'mon you use your Poke'mon's moves to defeat it. When it faints your Poke'mon gets experince. If you catch it the Poke'mon becomes part of your team and you can use it in battle. Cacthing a Wild Poke'mon is battling it execpt you don't want it to faint. Instead you try to get its HP as close to zero as you can without fainting it. You can also inflict staus condition like sleep (more on that later) to make it easier to catch them. Once you have done all of that, you can through a Poke'ball at it, which is used for cacthing the Poke'mon. What type of Pok'eball you use also can make it eaiser to cacth. When you throw the Poke'ball it will struggle to get free, if it gets out then you have to either throw another Poke'ball or try to make it easier to cacth and try to throw the Poke'ball again. If it stops struggling then it is yours.

The next is trainer battles.
When ever another trainer sees you for the first time you must battle them. If there are two trainers that see you at once then you will be engaged into a double battle. In a trainer battle each trainer sends out 1 (2 in a double battle) of their Poke'mon. When one Poke'mon faints it is replaced by another Poke'mon that trainer has. If your foe's Poke'mon faints then the Poke'mon that battled the opposing Poke'mon gain experence. If the opposing trainer runs out of Poke'mon then you win and they fork over prize money to you. If you lose you lose half your money and get send to the last Poke'mon Center you healed your Poke'mon at. If you have the vs seeker you can use it to remacth any trainer you perviously battled.

Finally we have friendly battles.
These are just like trainer battles expect no prize money is gained or lose and Poke'mon don't earn experence. These battles only happen a certain places or against another trainer you battle through linking with them. (This includes Wi Fi battles)

Swicthing Poke'mon:
Sometimes your Poke'mon that is out isn't the one you want to be involved in battle. If this is ever the case, just go to Poke'mon and chose a different Poke'mon to send out. You'll want to keep Poke'mon types in mind when swaping Poke'mon. Don't worry for those who don't know I'll go over that in a later issue of this thread so keep coming back here daily.

Poke'mon Stats:
Each Poke'mon is unquie in the poke'mon world. They each have their own moves and stats. Even Poke'mon of the same species have different stats due to various things like nature and characterists. Status are divided into 6 catagories.
Attack:
This stats decides the strength of physical moves. Higher attack will make physical moves reduce the foe's poke'mon's HP more.
Defence:
This stats will reduce how much HP physical moves take away.
Sp. Attack:
This is just like attack execpt it works for special moves instead of physical ones.
Sp. Defence:
This is just like defence exept it works for special moves instead of physical ones.
Speed:
This stats detrimines who goes first in battles. In most cases, Poke'mon attack in order of the highest to lowest speed.
Evasion/Accuricy: Athough these stats don't change leveling up, certian Poke'mon moves can change it in battle. Higher Accuricy makes your moves more likely to hit the foe, while evasion makes it harder for foes to hit you.
Staus Problems
In most cases, it's bad to have these. They can have a varity of affects from not being able to move, to slowly losing HP. Giving these to a foe by using certain moves, however, can give you an advange in battle. Most of these in most cases will contiue to exist, even when you swap your Poke'mon out.

Sleep/Freeze: If your Poke'mon is asleep it won't be able to move for a few turns. Being frozen is like sleep but usally lastes longer. Unlike sleep you can free yourself from a frozen spell using most fire moves.

Well that's it for today. I'll try to get more up tomow.
